Inside Nancy's Camera Bag......Nikon D3, Nikon D2X, Nikon D200, Nikon F3, Nikon F100, and various Nikon lenses including the 200-400, 17-35, and the 12-24 mm. Flashes include Nikon's SB 800 and SB R200. Along with a Mamiya 645 and Mamiya lenses. Nancy's tripod is the Gitzo 320 with a Really Right Stuff Ball Head, attached to a Really Right Stuff quick-release. Most commonly used filters are warming, polarizers, split neutral density. For these "work horse" filters, buy good glass. You have spent good money on lenses. You don't want to cover them with plastic filters. Cheap filters make great coasters!
Diffusion and reflection screens, extra batteries, spare cable releases, and repair kit are part of the equipment that is carried in her LowePro Road Runner AW backpack. |
Nancy's personal note on equipment:
Purchase the best lenses that you can afford, as it is the optics that are most important, not the bells and whistles of the camera. Cartier-Bresson once said: "Complicated equipment and light reflectors and various other items of hardware are enough, to my mind, to prevent the birdie from coming out."
Keep it simple, and remember that successful images do not occur because of the latest and greatest piece of equipment.
